Katy Perry has admitted that she is dating her long-time crush.

The singer is currently seeing US singer-songwriter John Mayer and she told W Magazine that he has tickled her fancy for some time.

She said: "I had a crush on him for a long time, and it just so happens we fit together great."

Speaking meanwhile about her short-lived marriage to Russell Brand, Perry added:

"It was a new, fun, exciting journey. But I like how I am now and I think all things happen for a reason."

Whilst Mayer and Perry are currently dogged by their own marriage rumours, it seems the 'Roar' star and One Direction's Niall Horan aren't going to be walking down the aisle together anytime soon.

The 'Kiss You' man jokingly proposed to Perry on Twitter at the weekend - but she has ignored his request.
