Katy Perry: 'John Mayer and I have so much in common'

'Teenage Dream' beauty Katy Perry has spoken out about her romantic relationship with crooner John Mayer and revealed that it works so well because they both have similar jobs.

Speaking about the bond and connection they share, the superstar admitted being able to share stories about each other's professional lives helps keep them feeling close:

"There's a lot of understanding when you get home and say, 'Ah, I had a pretty crappy show'. [John's] like, 'I understand because I've had one, too'. You get to share music. The dance parties are a lot more fun."

Referring to the song they collaborated on, entitled 'Who You Love', she added that it helped them to realise their mutual affection: "We did a song for his album. We were writing and recording around the same time for our records. We did an incredible duet called 'Who You Love' that is a beautiful song. I'm so proud of it because people hear it, and they hear a different side of me."

She also confessed to W magazine that she has fancied him for ages so finally getting to be his girlfriend was so exciting for her: "I had a crush on him for a long time, and it just so happens we fit together great."
