Katy Perry overtakes Justin Bieber on Twitter record

Pop beauty Katy Perry has finally overtaken Justin Bieber as the most followed person on Twitter.

Bieber took the crown from Lady Gaga back in January of this year, but has now been beaten by the 'Roar' hitmaker who has amassed over 46,519,000 million followers. Bieber currently has 45,500,000 fans on the site although the numbers often fluctuate.

The 'Unconditionally' superstar's new album, 'Prism', charted at No.2 on yesterday's official UK Top 40 and her latest single 'Roar' dropped 3 positions to No.7 after 9 weeks on the chart.

Perry, meanwhile, recently told the press that Sir Mick Jagger flirted with her at a dinner party and explained to Nova FM that he "hit on" her: "I went to dinner with him one time and he hit on me when I was 18! That was a long time ago, and he's been very kind."

Upon hearing her claim, Jagger slammed it and denied ever making a pass at her. His spokesperson said: "He categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry. Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else."
