Kelly Osbourne had a traumatic week with her pet Pomeranian, Sid, after he ate "half a pack" of chewing gum and nearly died. 

The singer and face of Material Girl took to Twitter to air her concerns over her pooch's health:

"EVERYONE keep gum away from your dogs Sid just 8 half a pack and almost died! Thank god I got him to the vet on time! #Worstnightofmylife"

She explained in her column for Closer magazine that gum is now banned from her house because the Xylitol ingredient can be deadly to dogs:

"There's Xylitol - a sweetener - in gum, which is the dog equivalent of giving cyanide to humans. It causes their blood sugar to drop and shuts down liver functions. He's fine now, but it was traumatic."

"The vet thinks, because he chewed it with the paper on, it didn't go into his system as quickly as it could have, which saved his life."

Luckily, Sid is back to full health now and she let her concerned fans know with a message that read:

"AMAZING NEWS EVERYONE! Sid finally got the all clear and is now home safe and sound! i could not be happier again thank you TLC vet!"
