Singer and X Factor judge Kelly Rowland has been sent a public message from her estranged father who wants to get back in touch "before it is too late". 

The former Destiny's Child superstar hasn't seen her dad Christopher since her mother left him when she was just a child, but now he has appealed to her through Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper and wrote:

"No parent should scream and shout in front of their child, and I am sorry to say there were too many times to mention that Kelly heard me screaming abuse at her mother. Sometimes she would run to her bedroom screaming, others she would cling to my trouser leg begging me to stop."

He also divulged that he's tried to make contact before, but to no avail and added:

"I own a big home now and have retired so I don't want any of Kelly's fortune, I just want her love. I'm getting old now - I just hope she reads this and doesn't leave getting back in touch with me before it is too late."
