Keri Hilson helps school pupils understand fame

Keri Hilson may look every inch the glamourous superstar, but she likes to visit schools while on tour to help "shed the perception" kids have of fame.

Speaking to London's Metro newspaper, the 'Pretty Girl Rock' singer revealed that talking to pupils with dreams of working in the industry in person encourages them to see a different side to what they typically expect:

"I love shedding the perception they have of me - the clothes, the hair and make-up, the heels, the expensive cars. The person they get in real life is very different to that. They each had a dream about working in the industry and I gave them the real (story). I don't sugar-coat it when I talk to kids."

"I love doing it and try to do it most places I visit. (In London, I visited) a class of kids who wanted to work in entertainment."
