Kesha signs up for 'Rising Star' TV talent show

American pop singer Kesha is set to return to work on a new US television show.

The ‘Tik Tok’ singer went into rehab at the beginning of the year to treat an eating disorder.

She left the treatment facility Timberline Knolls Centre in March and told fans, via Twitter, that she was: “Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music”.

Aside from her plans for “new music”, Kesha – who dropped the dollar sign from her name after leaving rehab – will now be taking on a new job as part of ABC’s TV talent search ‘Rising Star’.

The programme will be hosted by singer Josh Groban whilst Kesha, alongside rapper Ludacris and country star Brad Paisley, will offer contestants feedback.

The format of ‘Rising Star’ sees entrants singing behind a screen which then lights up with images of members of the public who have voted for them on an app. Hopefuls make it through to subsequent rounds by reaching a certain number of viewer votes during their auditions.

‘Rising Star’ hits US screens on ABC on June 22.

The UK version of the show is scheduled to premiere on ITV in 2015.
