Kesha's lawyer says singer wants to 'extricate herself' from Dr Luke

Kesha's lawyer has commented more on the legal action they have taken against Dr Luke.

The producer is accused of physically, emotionally and sexually abusing Kesha over a 10-year period.

Luke signed Kesha to his record label in 2005 and he allegedly made repeated sexual advances on her and would 'force her to consume alcohol and drugs in order to lower her inhibitions and defences'.

Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos has now told Billboard: "Only after extensive therapy and rehab has she finally gotten to the point where she's strong enough to extricate herself from him.

"What you have to understand about him is, he thinks that because he's got more money than he knows what to do with, that he can take these young impressionable artists and destroy them."

Dr Luke's lawyer Christine Lepera responded to Billboard that Kesha's action is "nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts."
