Kesha has learned to weed out "shady" people from her life

'Die Young' sensation Kesha has revealed that having a pet cat has helped her to weed out people in her life who are flaky and untrustworthy from those who are loyal.

She shared a snapshot of herself and the cat, named Mr. Peeps, to her Instagram account earlier today (May 30) and explained that she has no time for "shady" individuals in her friendship group:

"mr peeps taught me about unconditional love. I adore my little trash cat. I also am so happy I have some people in my life that are trustworthy and loyal. weed the shady fuckers out before they bite. trust me."

Earlier this week, musician Ben Folds praised Kesha for being such a strong-willed person and explained to the Rolling Stone that she is not afraid to march to the beat of her own drum, which is admirable: "The main thing is that Kesha has had the same choice as everyone: take the tough road and stick up for herself or just get in line."

"The fact that her personal and artistic growth is so important to her that she's willing to be kicked off television shows and not put a record out – that's what people are responding to. It takes guts to develop your voice, reinvent and be yourself like David Bowie or any other great artist. She just took a big risk. Plus, she's fuckin' way good."
