Kesha will receive the Trailblazer prize at this year's Billboard's Women in Music event, which is due to take place next month.

She will be honoured for "combining artistic fearlessness with unbounded creative energy" at the ceremony, which is taking place in New York on December 9.

Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, said Kesha has "continually pushed the limits of what was once thought possible in pop music".

She added: "She's a force on stage, an inspiration in person and a true trailblazer for millions of music fans around the world."

As previously revealed, Madonna will receive the Woman of the Year award, while Shania Twain will collect the Icon award. Halsey will get the Rising Star gong, Andra Day is in line for the Powerhouse award and Meghan Trainor collect the Chart Topper award.
