Ke$ha: 'My ultimate goal is to reinvent pop music'

Hitmaker Ke$ha has opened up about her second album's significant delay.

The pop star found great success with the release of her debut record, 'Animal' and has now explained that she is taking her time because her aim is to "reinvent pop music". She told the Calgary Herald:

"I want to take enough time to make sure it's the reinvention of pop music. That's the ultimate goal, to reinvent pop music. So I'm planning on taking as much time as I need, but May sounds about right."

She also expressed an interest in taking her music in a more rock 'n' roll direction and might consider moving away from the electro party-pop that she has become known for, adding:

"I definitely could see that happening in my future. With the evolution of my next record that I'm working on right now, and just meeting people like [Alice Cooper], and meeting Robert Plant — those are the people that I listen to. I'm more well versed in old school, more rock 'n' roll because that's what I like listening to."
