Ke$ha wants to "level the playing field" of gender boundaries

Pop sensation Ke$ha has opened up about her controversial lyrics, which often refer to women in ways that are typically more masculine and explained that there shouldn't be such a difference.

Some of the singer's tracks include lines such as "you're acting like a chick why bother?" and "don't be a little bitch with your chit chat, just show me where your dick's at", and she spoke to The Guardian newspaper about how her choice of words often cause a stir:

"I'm here to level the playing field. Chicks can talk about the same shit as guys can, and they can be just as badass. I'm not really concerned with what people think of me and that's what I've really built my career upon."

Despite having written songs for some of the sugariest acts in pop - Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears - the 'Tik Tok' hitmaker added that deep down she's just a "metal-loving rock chick":

"I've always loved rock 'n' roll. It's about subversion. I'm talking to millions of people around the world about having sex freely, getting drunk and partying. It's fun for me to be riding that line of appropriateness."
