Ke$ha explains "gangster" look

Pop songstress Ke$ha is "really proud" of her "gangster" look in her new music video.

The 26-year-old star finally released the long awaited music video for her new single 'Crazy Kids', which also features will.i.am this week.

Earlier this month, the 'Die Young' hitmaker teased fans by sharing a few snapshots from the shoot which included pictures of heavily bearded bikers, a collection of extravagant and decorative sunglasses, and a photograph of herself with an elaborate manicure and hairstyle.

Talking to MTV News about being compared to rapper Riff Raff thanks to her new look she said: "Well I love Riff Raff. I love that reference. I just kind of have been braiding my hair a lot recently. I like kind of looking like a gangster. The hair, it took four hours to get it braided and I had to sleep in a do-rag. And, I'm just really proud of that hair."

Ke$ha also revealed the party that inspired her to write the track, adding: "That particular birthday was really bad... and fun. But at the end of the night, I was having so much fun, at like 7 am I was literally jumping by myself on a mini trampoline going 'I'm having so much fun.' And then, for my birthday party, I got a tattoo artist, so everybody [who] came could get a tattoo to remember the night.

She continued: "And so I couldn't figure out what to get so I just got 'fun' tattooed on my foot. So now I have a tattoo to remember that night."
