Ke$ha and Pitbull's joint Australian tour axed after "soft" ticket sales

Pop star Ke$ha and hitmaker Pitbull's joint tour of Australia has been cancelled due to "soft" ticket sales.

The pair, who have just released a collaborative single together called 'Timber', were set to head down under later this month for a five-date run, but the shows have now been axed after little interest was shown.

Billboard reports that ticket sales weren't strong enough to bring the pair over to the country, so the concerts have just been cancelled.

'Die Young' beauty Ke$ha took to her official Twitter page over the weekend to apologise to her Australian fans for the cancellation: "I'm so, so bummed that our Aussie tour was cancelled!! Aussie animals, I love you very much and I'm working out how to come see you again asap!"

Pitbull also posted a message to his social networking account and told followers that the situation is simply out of their hands: "The promoter is cancelling the Australian Tour, refunds will be available at point of purchase. We hope to return to Australia soon. Thanks."
