Kimberley Walsh has spoken out in support of Cheryl as she receives online abuse about her weight.

A number of people took aim at the Brit recently after she posted photos on Instagram of herself looking thin.

Cheryl herself credited stress caused by the death of father-in-law as a contributory factor.

Speaking to the Mirror, former Girls Aloud bandmate Walsh said that Cheryl is doing fine.

The singer said: "She’s OK. That’s the most important thing. She’s enjoying what she’s doing, she’s enjoying being back on X Factor.

"It’s quite hard to have to constantly read things like that about her. The main thing is she’s OK. But there’s a lot of pressure obviously put on all of us in that respect."
