Kimberley Walsh rules out solo career

Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh has revealed she has no plans to emulate her band-mates in pursuing a solo career.

Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts have all released solo albums since the band took a break in 2009, but despite appearing on Aggro Santos’ Top 10 single, ‘Like U Like,’ early last year, the 30-year-old told the Metro newspaper that she has no intentions of following in their footsteps:

“It’s nice some of the girls have explored their passions through their solo albums but it’s not something I’m looking to do. I’m happy following my own ventures. I love performing, I love acting and presenting. I want to do other things.”

Walsh, who’s currently starring as Princess Fiona in the West End production of ‘Shrek,’ also added:

“What I’ve achieved musically with the girls is amazing and I’m happy with that. I applied for Popstars because I wanted to be in a group. I love having that support and with ‘Shrek’ I also have a cast of people supporting me and to have banter with, which I love.”

Girls Aloud are rumoured to be reuniting for their tenth anniversary later this year but Walsh refused to give anything away when asked about their plans: “I’ve read a lot of speculation, which hasn’t been accurate. We’ll tell everyone in good time.”
