Kylie Minogue says she is happy to be only female Voice coach

Kylie Minogue is happy to be the sole female coach on The Voice UK.

The singer is a new addition to the line-up alongside Ricky Wilson and the returning will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones.

However, the Aussie believes that being the only female on the panel means that it will reduce the chances of gossiping.

Minogue said: "I think it works really well, just because it stops there being any stories about bitchiness, cattiness or any kind of competition."

She added: "I hope that I'm giving a voice to the girls and the women who look up to me - or anyone like me in the business. Maybe it is proportionate to what it is in the industry. Maybe it would be interesting to flip it up another season and have three women and one guy."

The Voice UK meanwhile is due to return to British screens from Saturday (January 11).
