Kylie Minogue has lavished praise on the "great" Katy Perry.

The Australian singer is a veteran of the pop music scene, but she told Digital Spy that younger acts like Perry inspire her.

Speaking about the 'Roar' star at last night's (February 18) Elle Style Awards, the Voice UK coach said:

"I think she's a great artist already. She's still young. She's an inspiration, such a spirited character, along with talent. It's a pretty dynamic combination. She's a great force."

Minogue meanwhile is due to give out an award at tonight's (February 19) BRIT Awards at London's O2 Arena. Perry is also set to perform at the event.

The Australian's appearance comes ahead of the release of her new album 'Kiss Me Once' on March 17.
