Kylie Minogue: "People expect shiny pop on my albums"

Kylie Minogue has opened up on the expectations people have of her music.

The singer is due to unleash her new album 'Kiss Me Once' on Monday (March 17) in the UK as she follows up 2010's 'Aphrodite'.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Minogue said that she feels people now come to expect certain types of music on her records.

However, the Aussie feels that she will always throw in something that's a bit "leftfield" in terms of pop.

Minogue said: "I think people expect on my albums now to have the shiny pop, to have some disco and to have something that's a little bit leftfield. I think we have that with 'Les Sex' and 'Feel So Good'. And 'Sexercise'.

Speaking meanwhile about whether if there were any failed attempts at new styles on the album, she said:

"There were some, well not disastrous moments...there were some less than stellar moments. Maybe I'm being harsh, they just weren't right for me. Good song - maybe even a great song - but not for me, for someone else."
