Kylie returns to TV for dark comedy

Kylie Minogue is set to return to TV screens in a dark comedy programme.

The singer began life as an actress on Australian soap Neighbours in the 1980s before launching a successful music career.

She starred in 2012 flick Holy Motors and she is now due to appear in Hey Diddly Dee, which is being shown as part of Sky Arts' Playhouse Presents series.

Minogue will play the role of Bibi in a "murder mystery about drama" alongside Peter Serafinowicz. Speaking about the show, the singer said:

"When the script was sent to me, I read it and knew instinctively I wanted to be part of this project."

Hey Diddly Dee will hit UK screens on March 14.

As previously reported, Kylie recently announced plans to take a break from music to refocus her energy onto acting.
