Labrinth's fashion sense helped him define his sound

Labrinth has admitted that developing his personal sense of style helped him to carve out a niche in the music industry.

The 'Earthquake' star, who featured in 2012's GQ's Best Dressed Man In Britain list, explained during a new interview with VEVO that his fashion sense has been a useful tool for his career as a singer-songwriter and producer because it has helped him to define his sound:

"Us guys (his stylists) working together definitely helped me cross boundaries. I didn't want to be another urban kid with a black jacket and some shades. If I'm going to be an artist I want to at least make a statement with what I wear."

"There's nothing wrong with putting on a suit. There's nothing wrong with colours," He added. "I think we found what best fits me and I think it's healthy."
