Lady Gaga tells fans to stay safe at SXSW festival after two die in car collision

Lady Gaga has told her fans to "stay safe" after two people were killed in a car crash at the SXSW Festival.

The singer is due to perform at the Texas event tonight (March 13) before launching her keynote speech on Friday (March 14), but the festival has been marred by tragedy.

Police confirmed that a man and woman who were on a moped died and 23 people were injured after a drunk-driver ploughed into a barricade on a downtown street at the Austin festival.

The incident happened at 12.30am on Thursday (March 13) and five to seven people are said to be seriously injured. The driver has been taken into custody.

Gaga - who reportedly deleted an innocent tweet saying 'Tomorrow there will be blood' - said on Twitter:

"All my love to music lovers and fans, stay safe tonight we love you."

It has been reported that the crash happened outside a Tyler, The Creator show, who said on Twitter: "Show Isnt Happening, Something Sad Happened. I'm Bummed. MARKER AND COLE IF YOU SEE THIS LEMME KNOW YOU."

A video - which has been attracting some criticism online - has since surfaced from the crash site and it can be viewed below, but viewer discretion may be advised.
