Pop superstar Lady Gaga is set to star in the new season of 'American Horror Story', which will focus on spooky goings on at a hotel, and teased the front page of the script with a creepy picture. 

She shared a blood-stained photo of the writer's script for the upcoming new series on Instagram (pictured below) and told her followers that the project has well and truly started: "Just doing a bit of monster homework... Horrible lipstick accident. #AHS"

Co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk spoke about 'American Horror Story: Hotel' at San Diego's Comic-Con on Sunday (July 12) and revealed that Gaga had one request for her role:

"She said, 'I want to be evil,' and I said, ‘You came to the right place'. When you work with someone like her, you sign up for something that is larger than life and I think that's what you want. Part of her role involves fashion. You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way. The designers have been coming out of the woodwork with looks for her."

He continued: "How it happened with Gaga is she wrote and said, 'I love the show, would you consider putting me on it?' And I wrote back, 'Yes. CAPS CAPS…
