Gaga cancels Paris gigs due to riots

Lady Gaga has confirmed that she is postponing concert dates in Paris until December as a result of the rioting and striking that is currently plaguing the French capital.

Turmoil in France has been leading to a series of striking and protests – sometimes violent – after the French government announced the legal retirement age was to raised from 60 to 62. The strikes have also been causing problems with public and private transport into Paris.

A statement on the ‘Bad Romance’ singer’s website explained: “Unfortunately, as there is no certainty that the trucks can make it to the Bercy (area in Paris) for this weekend's shows, the Lady Gaga performances are now postponed. Lady Gaga apologises to her fans for any inconvenience.”

A planned  concert on December 19 will replace the October 22 show and a concert on December 20 will replace the October 23 performance.

Fans with tickets to the rescheduled shows must exchange their tickets or claim for refund from now through November 14 at their point of purchase.
