Joe Biden praises Lady Gaga: 'I admire her courage'

'Born This Way' sensation Lady Gaga has been confirmed to appear alongside U.S. Vice President Joe Biden at the upcoming University of Nevada sexual assault rally to further raise awareness about the cause.

Biden was first acquainted with Gaga at this year's Oscars where he introduced her performance of Til It Happens to You, which features in The Hunting Ground, a documentary about sex attacks on U.S. college campuses.

This new event will take place on April 7 and Biden told Billboard.com that she is very brave for using her own experiences of being a rape survivor to help educate, support and encourage others who have faced the same horrors:

"Lady Gaga is brave and sincere. She's a survivor who has the courage to speak out, and I know how difficult that can be. We've talked at length and I admire her courage. Everyone can see it because it's on display. She encourages so many other women to step forward."
