Lady Gaga smashes Super Bowl Halftime Show

Lady Gaga smashed it during the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Texas last night (6 February) to an expected US TV audience of 110 million.

Her show was heavy on her hits but light on the politics, with an elaborate intro which saw her leap off Houston's NRG stadium roof, lit from above by hundreds of red, white and blue drones.

She was dressed in a Versace 1980s-rock glam, futuristic look, with high shoulders and a neckline.

The star opened with Woody Guthrie's civil rights anthem, "This Land Is Your Land," a song which has become a popular anthem at rallies protesting President Trump across the country. It was a subtle reference to the new President's policies, reinforced by her belting out the lyrics to "Born This Way" - her hit song in stark contrast about acceptance and inclusion.

Gaga then proceeded to perform a string of her other hits, including: "Bad Romance," "Paparazzi," "Poker Face," and "Telephone," whilst accompanied by dancers, acrobatics and pyrotechics.

The superstar's set lasted a full 12 minutes in which she altered her stage costume twice. It may not have been politically-charged, but it was definitely high-energy charged.
