Lady Gaga breaks Platinum record

Lady Gaga has broken yet another impressive record with her debut studio album.

The Official Charts Company has reported that the 'The Fame' has become the first album, ever, in the UK to pass the 300,000 digital downloads mark, which has given it a Platinum status. A statement from the company's director, Martin Talbot, read:

"Congratulations to Lady Gaga for setting another record. In setting this latest landmark, Lady Gaga has further cemented her position in the annals of pop music history. Lady Gaga is the kind of artist who is constantly striving to break new ground and she has done that yet again for album downloads.”

This marks yet another groundbreaking achievement for the 'Born This Way' superstar and the top 5 all-time chart for digitally downloaded albums in the UK is as follows:

  2. 'Only By The Night' by Kings Of Leon
