The eve of Lady Gaga's new album's release proved to be as important as the day itself as she broke a record that hadn't been touched since 1955. 

Last night, May 22, the pop sensation celebrated 4 singles in the top 20 with 'The Edge of Glory', 'Judas', 'Born This Way' and 'Hair', and this feat sent her flying into the record books. She tweeted a message to her fans that explained her achievement:

"UK monsters, you've set another record! Gaga has 4 songs in the Top 20 this week, the first time for a female since 1955!"
