Lady Gaga embroiled in £3.1m lawsuit

International pop icon Lady Gaga has found herself at the centre of a £3.1 million lawsuit over the sales of her wristbands for Japan. 

Earlier this year, in March, the singer released plastic bracelets that were put on sale at a mere $5 to raise money for the Japan disaster relief, but attorneys from a law firm in Michigan have now filed a case against her claiming that she overcharged fans for the shipping and pocketed the profits. 

Alyson Oliver, of the 1-800-Law-Firm, explained the situation in a statement:

"While we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that claims that 'all proceeds will be donated to Japan’s earthquake relief efforts' are in fact true. Our intention with this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady Gaga and appropriate the full donations assumed to the victims in Japan.”
