Lady Gaga's Muppets cameo was cut from the movie

Pop icon Lady Gaga filmed a cameo for the brand new 'The Muppets' movie although her scenes didn't make the final cut.

Director James Bobin was forced to edit the extensive footage down to a package of just 98 minutes and took out the 'Born This Way' hitmaker's appearance to make way for more of the storyline. Writer/producer Clint Morris, who runs the site MovieHole.net, explained that it was necessary to cut the scenes:

"Stefani Germanotta's (Lady Gaga) big moment from the film was cut. With her entourage, including Ed Helms, Eric Stonestreet... and John Krasinski, Gaga would have gone head-to-head with Miss Piggy in a sequence. Rumour has it Madonna's Vogue was somehow involved (which makes sense considering Piggy is the editor of Paris Vogue magazine in the film)..."
