Lady Gaga has achieved a social media milestone as her official Twitter account now has over 18 million followers. 

Last night, January 15, the 'Marry The Night' pop icon passed the incredible figure and took to the website to write a message of both thanks and astonishment to her gigantic online fan base:

"Can't believe I have 18,000,000 TwitterMonsters, really rad, was just a few years ago I had barely any."

She also teased Little Monsters with a message about the ideas for her brand new forthcoming tour and added:

"I'm drinking a beer looking over the new ball blueprints. I can't wait to throw this effen party. ELECTRO POP OPERA!"
