Lady Gaga has taken to Twitter to praise US President Barack Obama, who recently came out in support of same-sex marriage in America.

She also posted about how she watched fans at one of her recent shows in Tokyo run to her front-of-stage 'monster pit'.

The global singer first off spoke out in praise of Obama, who went on record to support same-sex marriage. She tweeted:

"Obama, congratulations on being the first sitting President to support marriage equality. Feels like the future, and not the past. #NoFear."

Earlier today (May 10) she also spoke about how she had been watching her devoted fans leg it to the front of the stage at her Tokyo gig, with "wigs, glitter and discosticks" flying everywhere. She said:

"I have video feed in my dressing room of audience. Watching Tokyo lil monsters run for their lives into the pit! It's so freakin cute! All I see is hair bows, wigs, glitter, + discosticks flying across the screen. Haus + I are making sound effects..*wait for me guyzzzz* !!!"

She concluded: "I think also just witnessed a small meltdown at one of the merch stands. Yes. #monsterproblems."
