Triumphant USA gymnast thanks Lady Gaga for Olympic support

An Olympic gymnast who picked up a gold medal at London 2012 has thanked Lady Gaga for her support.

As previously reported, Gaga tweeted yesterday (July 31) that she found watching the USA female gymnastics team win Olympic gold somewhat emotional.

One of the team members, 16-year-old McKayla Maroney, got back to Gaga today (August 1) on the social networking website to thank her for her support. She tweeted:

"Thanks for watching @ladygaga!! <3 This team loves you & your music!! I also heard you were a gymnast?? ;)."
