Lady Gaga has been named the most powerful woman in pop in a new survey conducted by Forbes magazine.

The ‘Born This Way’ star was placed 14th in the business bible’s annual poll of the world’s most powerful women, which was topped by German chancellor Angela Merkel.

The 26-year-old, who was also the youngest in the Top 100 rankings, finished 12 places higher than the Queen, who at 86, was the oldest.

Determined by calculating wealth, media presence and overall impact, the list also featured several other pop stars, including Beyonce at No.32, Jennifer Lopez at No.38 and Shakira at No.40.
