Lady Gaga visits school to promote 'youth empowerment'

Modern pop icon Lady Gaga spent time at Isibindi Safe Park in South Africa over the weekend and taught the pupils there about 'Youth Empowerment' on behalf of children's charity, Unicef.

In a series of tweets posted today (December 3), Gaga revealed that she had a fantastic time and is proud to be working with such a great organisation:

"On Dec. 1 I visited Isibindi Safe Park in Naledi to speak w the children about Youth Empowerment on behalf of UN/UNICEF. I will be continuing my work with UN/UNICEF and a http://Littlemonsters.com  page documenting our progress will up shortly. Teaming with the United Nations I can continue breeding our Born This Way message of compassion. #KinderAndBraverWorld."

She also shared several photographs from her visit that show her engaging with the kids (shown below) and clearly enjoying her time there.

The superstar also returned to the social networking site and told her Little Monsters to prepare for tonight's concert, writing: "CAPETOWN I slept the ENTIRE day to energize & get my head in the game for tonight, I can't wait for the show! See u in a few! #startdrinking."
