Lady Gaga confirmed weeks of speculation last night (January 22) by performing at Barack Obama's inauguration ball.

The politician has been hosting a number of events to mark his second term as US President following his election victory last year.

His celebrations were completed with a ball at the White House as volunteers from his campaign toasted Obama's success.

Lady Gaga performed at the event as expected, with the singer reworking her track 'You And I'. She is also reported to have played a duet with crooner Tony Bennett.

As previously reported, producer Zedd recently revealed that there is still a lot of work to be done on Gaga's forthcoming new album 'ARTPOP', which had been slated for a spring release.
