Lady Gaga has revealed that she likes to smoke marijuana because it puts fame to the back of her mind.

The singer is one of the most famous faces in music and she admitted on Alan Carr's Chatty Man that she likes to just get away from it all by smoking the drug.

The 'Applause' star added that it reminds her of being a teenager - a time when she didn't have to deal with the rigours of fame. She said:

"The thing that I fell in love with about it is that I completely forget that I'm famous. I totally forget about it all. I take a puff and I'm me when I was 17 again in my white gogo boots looking for a job and there's something quite creative and liberating about that."

As previously reported, Gaga recently said that she was guzzling 15 joints a day at one point earlier this year to deal with the pain of her hip injury.

She admitted: “I was smoking fifteen joints a day. It was a habit that eventually occurred when the pain got so bad with the hip. I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself then sleeping it off, then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was."
