Pop megastar Lady Gaga has welcomed the start of 2014 by giving her Little Monsters a special surprise. 

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier this morning, the 'Venus' hitmaker explained that as a treat she decided to release a studio version of her 'Do What U Want' collaboration with songstress Christina Aguilera:

"Happy New Years Twitterverse, I wish you a beautiful and happy 2014, I wanted to start little monsters 2014 with a surprise so... Here's 'Do What U Want feat. Christina Aguilera' STUDIO Version. Pink champagne, gold lame, hair, and fearlessness."

The song, which the pair originally performed together on 'The Voice USA', has now been added to the iTunes music store and can be downloaded from today (January 1). 

Aguilera also shared the song's download link with her own social media following and told her fans: "Happy New Year! Loved performing #DWUW with @LadyGaga so we made a special version just in time for NYE! XoXtina."
