Lana Del Rey on wanting to record Bond theme: 'I wasn't asked'

Songstress Lana Del Rey has revealed that she would have loved to be the artist chosen to record the latest James Bond theme, but she wasn't asked to get involved.

During a new interview with Britain's NME magazine, the 'Video Games' star admitted that it's definitely something she would have been interested in and thinks her sound is right for the project:

I would've done it if I was asked but I wasn't asked. I love all of the Bond music that's been put out over the years and I love soundtracks in general."

The beauty added: "There are a couple of songs on this record (new album Honeymoon) that have a Bond feel, like 24 and Swan Song."

Del Rey, meanwhile, will be honoured at the 2015 Billboard Women In Music Awards as a 'Trailblazer' and the ceremony is set to take place tomorrow (December 11) at a venue in New York City. Janice Min, the awards ceremony's boss, explained the decision in a statement:

"Lana Del Rey has done things her way from the moment she first burst on the scene (sic), and continues to make brave and bold choices that defy convention. She's a trailblazer from her music to her mystery to her multitude of other interests. She keeps everyone awaiting her next move."
