Lana Del Rey has admitted she doesn't really have time for female singers - except Britney Spears, that is.

The enigmatic singer told Magic 105.4 that the 'Toxic' hitmaker is one of her big inspirations - and not just in her voice.

She also admires "the way she looks" - something which Del Rey has had issues with, even to the point of hate mail - as the media and online dissenters begin to scrutinise her own looks. She said:

"I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me - the way she sings and just the way she looks."

Del Rey also added that despite her rising fame, music is increasingly becoming a less important cog in the context of her own happiness. She said:

"The thing that makes me happy now isn't really singing. Music was once the be-all and end-all, but when you lose everything you have over and over again, it's not so important."
