Lana Del Rey has explained the use of a controversial lyric that appears on her forthcoming EP 'Paradise'.

The sultry singer recently released a batch of clips from the set of new tracks, including a snippet from the song 'Cola'.

Eyebrows were raised, however, when the lyric 'My p**sy tastes like Pepsi-Cola' emerged.

Del Rey, who is said to be dating Kassidy frontman Barrie James O'Neill, told Australian radio that the merely comes from the tongue of her Scottish boyfriend. She said:

"I have a Scottish boyfriend, and that's just what he says!"

When asked if she had doubts over releasing the song, the singer said: "I didn't but everyone around me did. They just thought it was really weird - nothing new here."

'Paradise' meanwhile is expected to be released on November 12.
