Slough born singer songwriter and camper van dweller, Tom Dibb is currently in the process of putting the final touches on his first ever full-length record at Bedfordshire's Grand Chapel Studios following an epic musical adventure that took Tom from London to Melbourne overland creating an LP that speaks of his unique experiences during his 18 months on the road.

In his trusty 1989 VW T25 camper van, ‘Pickle’, Tom travelled over 19,000 kilometres on a route taking him through the wildest countries a touring musician could hope for. Leaving in February 2016, his route took him through Western Europe, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia. Tom’s goal was Australia, reaching there in September 2016. He spent a further 7 months touring up and down the east coast of Australia gigging at every opportunity. By the end of the trip, Pickle the van had covered over 35,000km, though around 7000km of that was crossing the Black and Caspian seas and the Indian Ocean. Over the course of his trip, Tom played to tens of thousands of people in 27 countries, from street corners to renowned venues, from festivals to TV appearances. Tom’s excellent adventure is the culmination of a life-long dream, and in 2013, he decided to bite the bullet in, quit the day job, jump in the van, and take his music on the road.

Speaking about his journey, Tom explained –

"It took so many years to put into place, but what can I say, it was more than worth it. I connected with people I would have otherwise never have met, walked amongst cultures I never knew existed, performed so many amazing shows and picked up plenty of media attention along the way. Of course, there were a few hairy moments along the way, but it all gave me so much material for my songs which is why I just had to get everything down as soon as I got back to the UK."

Tom’s music is an expression of his experiences, of people, situations, places, society, growth as an individual, and emotions felt and displayed as a result of it all. His influences include Ryan Adams, Finlay Quaye, Incubus, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, Sublime, John Butler Trio, Bedouin Soundclash, and many more.

Since touching back down on UK soil in late April 2017 and being reunited with Pickle, Tom has been working day and night playing the UK campervan circuit in between recording, mixing, producing and mastering his record with the talented team from Grand Chapel Studios – and now it’s ready to be unleashed…

“This record is a culmination of everything I've felt since sacking off my London day job years ago, planning A Pickle Down Under, and of course, all of my experiences on the road. I'm buzzing about this album, and I finally feel that I can share all I've seen with other people who are thinking about going on any kind of personal adventure. I hope people enjoy it; I hope it Inspires people. I guess we'll find out soon."
