Alex White and his Lazy Dog Toy collective have announced the release ofstand alone single ; 'Hello Mother’. Recorded in the midst of lockdown and feeling cut off from family and friends the collective have been united in writing a barrage of music for their upcoming album, due for release later this year.

Teaming up with Irish singer Chanele McGuinness on lead vocals, Alex has written an introspective musical tribute to his Mother, a delicate and relaxed single that seems to drift into the warmth of dreams and comfort with delicate celestial sounds and drifting synths. As we approach Mothers day this year many people across the UK will be missing loved ones. The collective hope this can be the musical equivalent of that life affirming hug that so many are wanting.

Founded by Silent Running star Alex White the collective incorporates musicians from all around the world. While never meeting in person the musicians are united online, bouncing musical snippets of each other part collective, part community the project is a celebration of musical collaboration.

Alex has been recognised over the years as a performer and songwriter, starting his career with the band Silent Running on EMI records and after several UK singles he toured Europe UK and USA with Simple Minds and Talk Talk. Leaving the band a few years later he then went on to join Joan Armatrading on a world tour and became a part of the recording process as well as working as a top session musician playing for other chart toping artists such as Labi Siffre, Jim Diamond and Carol Decker.

Using his experience Alex hopes the project will be a gateway for budding musicians serving as a platform for wider discovery.
