La Roux's 'In For The Kill' to be released by March

La Roux – the red haired one – steps up to claim her thrown as the new pop princess with the release of the ridiculously brilliant ‘In For The Kill’ on Polydor on Monday, March 16th.

Her dynamic combination of vulnerable emotive lyrics, snaking off-kilter synths and killer hooks are fast becoming her trademark sound and continues to mark her out in a class of her own. First single ‘Quicksand’, the club smash, released last year on Parisian label Kitsune ignited a fire of interest in the newcomer, resulted in her being tipped in all the OTW polls for 2009 and making the 5th position of the BBC Sound poll.

Accompanied by a hyper real video (directed by Kinga Burza), which sees Elly taking inspiration from her hometown Brixton, ‘In For The Kill’ harks back to La Roux's synth pop heroes whilst staying utterly fresh, modern and beguiling.

La Roux also announced yesterday that she is set to headline NMW's annual new talent showcase, which will hit the road at the end of April. The singer will be joined by Magistrates, Heartbreak and The Chapman Family on the 2009 Radar Tour.
