MIAMI (DEC. 5, 2019) — The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® announced today that applications are now open for the Gifted Tuition Scholarships and the Tuition Assistance Scholarships. Talented music students between the ages of 17–24 years old with financial constraints, admitted to the university of their choice and interested in Latin music are eligible to apply.

The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation will distribute a maximum of $700,000 USD in an effort to foster and support the next generation of talented musicians who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world's culture:

Three Gifted Tuition Scholarships of $25,000 USD each will be awarded annually for four years, for a maximum of $100,000 USD, are available for students to earn a bachelor's degree in music. This award will cover tuition costs only.

Forty Tuition Assistance Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in music, with a maximum allotment of $10,000 USD each. This is a one-time award that will cover tuition costs and will only be valid for one year of study for the following semesters: Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. This award will cover tuition costs only.

"As the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation wraps its fifth year helping to create the new generation of Latin music markers, we aspire to continue growing and increase the number of scholarships we offer every year," said Manolo Díaz, Sr. Vice President of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. "Thanks to our generous donors we are able to once again announce these 43 scholarships, but the reality is that there is much more to do to close the gap for quality music education."

As of today, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation has allocated $5 million USD in scholarships, grants, musical instrument donations, and educational events worldwide. Applications and guidelines are available at www.latingrammyculturalfoundation.com. As part of the process, students must complete two audition videos, submit two letters of recommendation and answer two essay questions. The materials can be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2020, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
