Laura Marling hints at punk album

Folk songstress Laura Marling has admitted her "first love" was punk - and has hinted that she might even record a punk album in the future.

Marling, known for her delicate songs and melodies, told the Guardian that she still loves the genre and might even release a punk album under a different name.

The BRIT Award winner also said that she wants to do things a "bit differently" now in terms of her music making, suggesting a more "electric" approach. She said:

"I'd like to make music for as long as I can; it feels like something I need to do. But I would like to do things a bit differently. I think I might be coming into my electric phase…"

When quizzed if she would like to "rock out", she added:

"Yeah. My first love was punk, and my current love is punk, so maybe there's a punk album coming, though I probably wouldn't do it under my name."
