Laura Marling reveals third album plans
Laura Marling has given an update on her forthcoming third album.
Although the 20-year-old singer's second full-length 'I Speak Because I Can' was only released yesterday, Marling has already confirmed plans to release two LPs in 2010.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, she revealed that work on her new record is already under way, saying: "We're doing pre-production at the moment. It's taking a form now - I don't really know which one. We wanted it to feel like a band album and to do it in an organic way, so we all recorded in the same room, standing next to each other. It was really fun."
Marling also claimed that the upcoming album was inspired by a collection of love letters she had obtained that were written during World War II. "The content of them was so bizarre, a wife writing to her husband describing how she was made 'wooden' by anger that he was leaving. I thought it was such a beautiful way of putting something, being wooden by insecurity or fear or anger."
