Lea Michele on Cory Monteith: 'He was not his addiction, but unfortunately it won'

'Cannonball' songstress Lea Michele has opened up about Cory Monteith, who died back in July 2013 from an accidental heroin and alcohol overdose, and admitted that he was "not his addiction" when they were together.

During a new interview with Seventeen magazine, for the April 2014 edition, Michele explained that his substance abuse problems never crept into their relationship and he was the perfect boyfriend:

“I only have happy memories of Cory. He was not his addiction – unfortunately, it won. But that wasn’t who he was. Cory made me feel like a queen every day. From the minute he said, ‘I’m your boyfriend,’ I loved every day, and I thank him for being the best boyfriend and making me feel so beautiful.”

Michele has just released her stunning debut album, entitled 'Louder', and confirmed today that she will be going on tour in support of the record later this year although she is yet to announce details about the dates.
