Lea Michele devastated over horse's cruel death in New York City

Animal activist and Glee star Lea Michele has hit out at the use of horse-drawn carriages in New York City again after one of the horses died in the street on Saturday, October 22. 

The actress and singer, who plays the character Rachel Berry in the Emmy award-winning musical series, took to her official Twitter account last night, October 25, to tell her fans about the shocking news and called for the vehicles to be banned:

"Just woke up to the saddest news about one of the carriage horses dying the midtown NYC. This has to stop! Please :("

"Trying to move past the sad news from this morning.. Getting ready now to do some press for #Glee.. Super busy day today!"

She already has a PETA campaign against the use of horse-drawn carriages in Manhattan under her belt and this cause is one that's very close to her heart. Watch her talk about her passion for protecting animals below:
