'Glee' star Lea Michele confirms debut studio album

Glee's leading lady Lea Michele has confirmed that she's working on her debut studio album.

Fans of the vocal powerhouse will know her as Rachel Berry from the well-loved TV show as well as from her impressive on-stage role in Broadway's 'Spring Awakening', but she will now add another dimension to her incredible career with a full-length record.

Writing on Twitter late last night, Michele explained: "Just had a very exciting music meeting and am proud to announce that im officially on the road to making my first album! I'm so excited! There's so much to be thankful for right now. Feeling so blessed and thankful. And I couldn't do it without all of you! Love you guys!"

Michele has also signed up to be the new ambassador of L'Oreal Paris and issued an official statement on the exciting news, in which she revealed that she first tried the cosmetics company's products as a youngster and fell in love with them immediately:

"Growing up on stage, I was introduced to makeup at a young age and I will never forget the first time I tried on a L'Oreal Paris iconic lipstick – it was instant glamour and I've been hooked ever since! I've been a fan of L'Oreal Paris' products for years, but it wasn't until I was a bit older that I fully understood the brand's message of a woman's worth, which I wholeheartedly agree with."

"L'Oreal Paris encourages women to embrace their beauty and celebrate their self worth.  I feel very honored to be working with L'Oreal Paris to help spread that message to young women."
